Legacy Books & Cafe
5249 Delmar Blvd, St Louis, Wilbur Park,
I've been to Legacy Cafe In St.Louis, Missouri once. But that's all it really took for me to feel like I was at home, and enjoy the peace and calm atmosphere. I dont know who idea it was for this exact place, or the excellent purpose...but it's postive, it's mature (no fighting). It's a actually trhe only place i"ve been to where a group of black people can get together (without arguing and fighting), and have a really good time. If u havn't been it's a place where you've never been. It take you to a new level. Theres open mic...u can hear talent or give it off (by showing yours on stage). Keep up the good work.~~~Danielle

Coffee Cartel
2 Maryland Plz, St Louis, Wilbur Park,
I used to go to Coffee Cartel when I was in high school and it was a cool place to see and be seen, but over the years the staff has gotten worse and worse. They act like you are not cool enough to be in there unless you are sporting a vintage messenger bag, facial piercings and an anti-authority t-shirt. Back in high school and college, that was pretty much me, but over the years I have grown up and become a professional working in the Central West End. I have been back to give them chance after chance, but each time I go back there, I get treated badly by the rude staff. I can just imagine them thinking to themselves, "What a conformist." I don't appreciate going somewhere and being made to feel like I am not enough of a hipster to even be there anymore. Also it stinks because of the smoking area.

Pintoli's Italian Cafe
5573 Highway 43, Satsuma, Pennsylvania ,
A few of my family members and I ate at Pintoli's on a Saturday night, and the experience was horrible. To begin with, the atmosphere was very unwelcoming. As we were led to our booth, servers impatiently squeezed through us instead of waiting for us to pass, and our server didn't even tell us her name. We ordered bread sticks, and they were tasteless pieces of cardboard that were extremely tough to break and chew. The food was alright, but very forgettable. My sister & niece ordered shrimp & bacon alfredo, my mom ordered spaghetti & meatballs, and I had chicken alfredo. All of the pasta was angel hair spaghetti, which didn't mix too well with the lumpy alfredo sauce. The sauce itself was bland and overcooked....there were pools of butter sitting on top of my dish when it arrived. Our server, whose name was Robin (I found this out only after looking at my receipt) was terrible. Our drinks sat on the table for a good 10 minutes before getting refilled. My mom asked for bread & butter with her spaghetti, but it never appeared. at 8:38 she brought us the check, By 8:58 she had not returned to pick it up, so we had another server take it for us. In the meantime, the busboy came and cleared our tables as we waited for Robin to return. She finally came back at 9:12, and we promptly left the place. We did not leave her a tip. As we were leaving, we passed by about 4 servers at the front who were having a conversation with a customer that they apparently knew. Not a single one looked up to acknowledge us. The bottom line: Bland, overpriced food. Unwelcoming atmosphere. Horrible customer service. I don't plan on returning to this restaurant again.

Hawk's Nest Cafe
1300 N 7th St, Riverton, Lanesville,
My favorite item is the horseshoe!!! No bland cheese sauce in their horseshoes! I request extra cayenne pepper because I like to live on the wild side! Prices are much less than in Springfield which is a few minutes West of Riverton. And, the desserts are to die for...all homemade! Love this place!

Ivy's Cafe
201 E Main St, Ligonier, Ligonier,
ivy's cafe rocks! who would have known that little old ligonier had such a cool place to eat... my wife and i , in our thirties, decided to have a "date night" and were eager to try the new restaurant in town. from the outside the restaurant looks empty or closed or something, but once inside you enter a nicely lit, warm and somewhat busy restaurant. you're then greeted by lisa, the owner.. later we found out that lisa's husband, anthony, was the chef. i 've always had good meals in family run places...seems like they just care about your experience a little more. so, there are about nine tables in the dining room and i think another nine or ten upstairs next to the bar. its like an old house inside with soft music playing and a fireplace too. its cozy enough for a romantic night out but not overdone. there were a couple of tables with businessmen there too. our meal started with warm and gooey bread that was nice and garlicky/salty. yum! i had stuffed prawns and my wife had the poached pear salad. the appetizer was served nice and hot and with a good amount of sauce. im a sauce guy. my wife then had the duck cassoulet and i had a filet mignon. duck cassoluet in ligonier? YES!! big creamy beans, duck confit....delicious. my steak satisfied my craving for a big dinner and it went well with the bottle of wine. .. sangiovese/merlot blend by banfi. they had a short but fun wine list that i was exited about. dinner ended nicely with a chocolate souffle cake and scoop of vanilla ice cream. homemade warm chocolate yum....the staff was attentive and friendly. surprisingly polished and proper service i might add. :) i will definitely be going back again when i dont feel like driving all the way into greensburg or pittsburgh to get a great meal. thanks to lisa and anthony for bringing a big city dining spot to our little town. we needed it desperately!
