Overall, this is the worst experience we've ever had with any business. We made an appointment with Buchman Studio, Inc. for our engagement announcement photos. 1) After we arrived at the studio for our appointment, they told us it had been canceled, without them having the professionalism or courtesy to notify us. 2) They asked us to come back a few hours later, again wasting our valuable time. 3) They promised proofs that we could "pick up or have mailed to us in 2-3 weeks." Four weeks after the photos were taken, I called and asked about the proofs. They were still "at the lab". These were digital photos, I might add. 4) Seven weeks after the photos were taken, I called them back again, only to hear that the photos were still "at the lab." 5) Several requests to speak with the manager/owner were ignored, and my calls were not returned. 6) Once the proofs finally arrived, we went down to pick them up. They had one of our names wrong on the cover of the proof book, which could cause a serious fight between some couples. 7) When we asked to speak to the manager because of the poor service so far, he first made the snide comment, "Well you're not married yet, are you?" in reference to how late the proofs were, implying that they had until our wedding day to get our engagement proofs back to us. 8) Then he offered us a measly 10% discount on any photos ordered that day, like he was doing us some sort of favor. 9) We said we'd take the proofs home with us to talk it over, and he said ok, but added that he normally did not let customers take the proof books off the premises...yet another "great favor." Why then, I wonder, were we TOLD we could pick them up or have them mailed to us? 10) Upon further inspection of the photos, we discovered that they had been taken with a DIRTY camera lens (the same debris is on every photo). 11) Two of the proofs in the book are exactly the same, with the same pose and same file number. 12) The lighting in many of the photos was bad. In summary, poor professionalism, poor customer service, poor turnaround time, poor communication and a lack of courtesy, in addition to a substandard product, eliminated any chance of repeat business from us. They claim to be at the mercy of the lab, however, they've forgotten that they are also at the mercy of their customers. A one-star rating is too generous for Buchman Studio, Inc. Visit them at your own risk.

My friend used him for a pet portrait, plus the rest of the humans in the family. He captured the spirit of the dog just beautifully! And the humans looked great, too! I'm in the process of getting my two furkids (and us) photographed now.
